jealous of diurnal beasts
that bask in sunshine!

you! with your tiny
feet that gleefully pierce the
flesh they dance upon!

in these wee hours
as you sneak and spy and all
but steal our last breaths!

shares his candy bar

as the rain patters
in perfect mandelbrot sets
in puddles below
